Ferris Basketball to Host Friday Night Event at Wink Arena

Ferris State University's women's golf team recently wrapped up their fall season in spectacular fashion, emerging victorious at the Bill Crabtree Invitational, held in Owensboro, Kentucky. The Bulldogs displayed their prowess by securing a two-round team score of 612, finishing six strokes ahead of the runner-up, Maryville, at The Pearl Club. The team led the way with an impressive 303 on day one and wrapped up with a solid 309 to clinch the victory.

This 36-hole event saw participation from 15 teams on a par-72 course measuring 5,829 yards. Overall, Ferris State achieved a +36 score across both rounds.

Individually, Kamryn Shannon of FSU earned the runner-up spot with an outstanding even-par score of 144 over the two rounds, shooting a 73 on Monday following her impressive opening round of 71 on Sunday. She was just four shots behind the tournament's individual medalist.

FSU's Aspen Sugars also made a mark by finishing in the top 10, sharing the ninth position with a score of 154, achieved through identical rounds of 77 on both days.

Hallie Crozier of the Bulldogs ended up tied for 14th place with a total of 155, posting a 76 in the first round and finishing with a 79 in the final 18 holes.

In the meantime, Dani Staskowski concluded the tournament tied for 30th overall with a score of 160, shooting consistent back-to-back rounds of 80 each day.

Lizzie Anderson of Ferris State found herself sharing the 34th position with a score of 161, recording scores of 79 on Sunday and 82 on Monday.

Lastly, Abby Grevel wrapped up the event tied for 41st overall, consistently shooting rounds of 82 on both days to secure a total score of 164.

The Bulldogs have concluded their fall season with a series of impressive top-three finishes in various tournaments, including a team championship at the Bill Crabtree Invitational. They also claimed the runner-up spot at the Gilda's Club Laker Invite in Allendale and secured third place at their own Lady Bulldog Invite in September. Ferris State is eagerly looking forward to the spring portion of the 2023-24 schedule, set to resume in March.
