Thunder rookie big man Chet Holmgren showed off his passing ability against the Miami Heat on Wednesday, creating a foul with a dazzling assist to help the Thunder win 128-120. The game also reminded Holmgren of NFL superstar quarterback Lamar Jackson.

Chet Holmgren's rookie season just keeps getting better and better, and during Wednesday's game against the Miami Heat, the OKC Thunder big man showed his inner "Lamar Jackson" with a dazzling outlet pass. The pass led to a thunderous layup that helped the Thunder to a 128-120 victory, which led Holmgren to jokingly tweet, "I'm channeling my inner Lamar Jackson, big truss."

Holmgren was more than just a bright spot, as he posted a solid all-around stat line of 23 points, nine rebounds, two assists and three caps, while shooting 66.7 percent from the field. These kinds of dominant performances have become the norm for the 21-year-old, who showcased a well-rounded skill set that includes rim protection, rebounding and floor-spacing.

Holmgren's quarterback-like passing doesn't happen overnight. Holmgren is one of the best passers among big men, including legends such as Wes Unseld and Bill Walton, as well as contemporary wunderkind Nikola Jokic. Holmgren's ability to find teammates all over the court adds another dimension to his game, making him a nightmare for opposing defences.

The win against the Heat was the Thunder's 10th in their last 13 games, cementing their place as a powerhouse in the West. They currently sit in second place with a record of 25 wins and 11 losses, just half a game behind the league-leading Minnesota Timberwolves.

Despite the success, head coach Mark Daigneault kept his feet on the ground. He said, "We are where we are because we keep getting better. We prepare, execute, compete, learn and repeat ...... 82 times."

The Thunder will look to extend their winning streak this Thursday when they take on the struggling Portland Trail Blazers (10 wins, 26 losses). With Holmgren shining brightly and the team playing with collective momentum, the future looks exciting for the OKC Thunder.
